In an interview with Arianna Huffington on World Mental Health Day this year 2024, Deepika Padukone, a new mother, talked about that. They talked about handling the feeling of being burned out, the need to take breaks, and how to succeed in the middle of negativity. Deepika provided her own experience on a journey with the Live Love Laugh Foundation.
Both Deepika and Arianna talked about the need to have breaks, and what impact it has on efficiency, and the impact on health. The particulars of downtime and how it leads to active replenishment of mental fatigue were also brought up.
Fatigue was identified as a form of pressure that can cause blurring of the mental picture. Deepika opened about the personal issues and said that she used to suffer from burnout during her shoots, and she once even made a decision with a sleep depriving brain. The possibilities of burnout’s early detection, and their impact on mental health, were also highlighted by her.
One of the topics of discussion was as to how one suffers if they harbor bitterness in their hearts. Deepika spoke about her experiences with negative thoughts and criticisms and upset, with both recommending that one has to let go and instead look forward.
Arianna presented the idea of microsteps as simple meaningful behaviors that in sum create pathways to better mental health. The discussion showed how even minor alterations in everyday functioning processes may produce significant beneficial impacts on human’s quality of life.
