Post the Covid-19 outbreak, when the work got shifted to homes and desks were replaced by bed tables, the concern about it resuming always seemed to bother the working crowd.

Even now, despite the emerging concerns of the latest variant of Cold Omicron, people are worried if at all offices, especially, IT firms will call them back to offices.

Big players like Tata Consultancy Service, Cognizant, Infosys among others are wondering if they should start to work from office mode already or not. But are they going to do it anytime soon?

As per early information, due to the sudden Covid surge in the country yet again, the firms have decided to continue with the remote working environment. In fact, other companies have also added to this list including– Flipkart and Amazon, who also have asked their employees to work from home.

Confusion regarding this began when IT firms like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, and others started to ask their employees to return to offices or work stations after announcing the return of 50-70 percent workforce from January 2022. The decision again seemed to have been postponed given the Omicron danger in the country.

It was only last month that the TATA conglomerate announced in an official communique that as 90 percent of its employees are working from home hence any plans to make them return will be ‘calibrated move’. After TCS, even Cognizant stated that it will continue the work from home structure keeping the safety of its employees. While speaking to a leading daily, an official from Infisys states, “If the situation stays stable, infection rates are low and vaccination is higher, Infosys will probably have a larger percentage of its workforce returning.”
