Will Apple iPad Mini Replace Foldable iPad In 2025?

Apple is planning to launch its iPad Mini in 2024 and iPhone Fold in 2025, as per reports. Can Apple iPad Mini replace the foldable device iPad Fold in near future?

The next iPad series, the iPhone 15 lineup, and a potential foldable iPhone have all been the subject of reports in recent weeks. 

According to South Korean media outlet The Elec, Apple may stop making the iPad mini in order to make room for the rumored foldable iPad. Additionally, it is rumored that in 2025 Apple would discontinue the iPad Mini production line and introduce a folding iPad. 

A renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the rumors are unfounded and that due to their stark differences, the Cupertino giant will not swap both devices.

Although Kuo claims that Apple should introduce a foldable iPad, it won’t replace any existing iPad models primarily because its cost will be significantly more than the iPad Mini’s. As they are aimed at various price points, the reports don’t really make sense.

iPhone Fold: Apple’s Foldable Smartphone

Ming-Chi claims that Apple is presently developing a brand-new iPad Mini, with the new chip serving as the device’s primary selling feature. 

According to market predictions, shipments of the latest iPad Mini will begin around the end of 2023 or in the first half of 2024.

Recall that the most recent iPad Mini 6 had a starting price of ₹ 46,900 when it was released in September 2021.

According to previous rumors, Apple would collaborate with two major South Korean companies, Samsung and LG, to create a 20.25-inch foldable OLED panel. 

However, for the time being, more information regarding the hardware or the foldable product is kept under wraps. 

If the foldable iPad’s screen is fully extended to 20.25 inches, it might resemble a MacBook in terms of form size. The screen’s folded size may be nearly 15.3 inches.

In the future, a foldable MacBook device might come after a folding iPad. According to reports, Apple is reportedly working on a foldable digital product privately and plans to debut it in 2025, which might be one year after the company’s 2024 release of its first OLED iPad.
