Why Modi Thinks India Needs Youth In Politics

Last updated on January 16th, 2021 at 06:37 am

Youth In Politics: Addressing the valedictory function of the second National Youth Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed high hopes from the youth of the nation. Politics is not a chosen profession in India. There are reasons behind the lack of interest in the youth.

But stressing about the positivity and importance of politics in running a nation, PM Modi said, “this is a constructive medium for positive change in society.”

According to Modi, what has really weakened any democracy is its ‘dynasty politics’. He has called it a poison that has not let new ideas emerge in the fabric of Indian democracy either. Addressing the gathering virtually he urged that youth should look at entering politics and using it as an instrument to bring in positive change.

Adding on to this thought, PM Modi also said that, “It is true that (in politics) the fortunes of those who have been winning elections on the basis of surnames are dwindling. In politics, however, this disease of dynastic politics is not completely finished. There are still people whose politics is aimed at saving their family.” It is never “nation first”.

Present during the event was also Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal.

Undeniably, his reference could be seen to the Congress and its lineage that has not seen any political acumen in the present generation that tends to think it is ruling the roost.

While the Congress has continued to attack Narendra Modi government on all his moves, Modi has found more tactful ways of reaching out to the masses, and still throwing a lower jaw jab on the opposition. His politics comes with leadership, strategy, and a charisma that has seen the world’s second largest economy to sail through a war like situation with China and a humanity-threatening pandemic too.

Indeed, Modi has proven to be a perfect example of how focus and determination can move mountains. He continues to be an inspiration to the world and the youth of India.
