Swiggy is well-known for its unique marketing strategies. This time the company is sending fake ₹2,000 notes to its users. Is it to promote a movie or series?
Swiggy Instamart, known for its innovative marketing techniques, has once again provided an example of a funny promotion method by giving out 2,000 notes to its clients to promote a new action-thriller titled ‘Farzi,’ which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime OTT platform.
Shahid Kapoor’s face is imprinted on a fake 2000 rupee note that the majority of the country has got with their order. Along with Prime Video, this marketing plan was put into practise.
The online series ‘Farzi’ is about a con man (portrayed by Shahid Kapoor). The Family Man creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK also star in the series, which also features Vijay Sethupathi.
The fake notes for 2000 rupees also include Vijay Sethupathi’s image alongside Shahid Kapoor’s replacement of M. K. Gandhi.
According to Ashish Lingamneni, Head of Marketing at Swiggy, working with Amazon Video to promote the Farzi web series in a novel way has been an exhilarating experience.
“To get the word out about the performance, we sent Farzi a note along with every Swiggy Instamart order. Thousands of Instamart users all throughout the country were interested in it. They have responded and reacted to us in an extraordinary way,” he continued.
Farzi, an eight-part series that debuted on February 10 on Amazon Prime Video, also stars South actor Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashi Khanna, Bhuvan Arora, Amol Palekar, and Regina Cassandra.
Shahid, who is well-known for his roles in the movies “Kaminey,” “Haider,” “Udta Punjab,” “Padmavaat,” and “Jersey,” claimed that working on “Farzi” was the “greatest opportunity” with the “best directors.”
We have a fantastic cast, including Raashi, Vijay, Kay Kay, and Bhuvan, who plays Firoz, as well as Amol Palekar and Regina, who each have little roles in the programme. He praised the co-authors Sita Menon and Suman Kumar and remarked, “So it’s full of extremely intriguing artists.
Shahid Kapoor portrays Sunny, a driven Mumbai native seeking an opportunity for himself in a competitive environment.
