5 Indian soldiers were martyred and several others were injured in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on 20 April.

The terrorists attacked when the army vehicle was moving from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in the district.

Kulwant Singh: Son of Kargil War Hero

Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, a soldier in the Indian Army, was one of the five jawans who were killed in a terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. He joined the army in 2010, following in the footsteps of his father, who lost his life in the Kargil conflict in 1999.

Kulwant Singh is survived by his wife, a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and a three-month-old son. The sarpanch of his village, Chadik in Punjab’s Moga, has urged the government to extend all help to the family as Kulwant was the sole breadwinner.

The army has launched a massive operation to hunt down the group of terrorists responsible for the attack. Kulwant Singh’s mother said that before leaving home, he had assured her that he would be fine and asked her not to worry. Kulwant Singh’s bravery and commitment to the country, like his father’s, will always be remembered.
