Neville Roy Singham is an American entrepreneur and social activist. ThoughtWorks is an IT consulting business that offers specialized software, software tools, and consulting services. He founded the business and served as its founding chairman.

Neville Singham is charged with providing funding to several organizations that support the propaganda views of the Chinese state media, refute the Uyghur genocide, and support Russian imperialism.

In 1954, Singham was born in the USA. Before founding ThoughtWorks in 1993, he spent some time working as a software engineer after completing his economics degree at Howard University. Thought Works quickly rose to prominence as one of the top IT consulting firms in the world, and Singham was recognized by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the “Top 50 Global Thinkers” in 2009.

Singham has increased his political activism over the past few years. He is an outspoken supporter of the Chinese Communist Party and has given millions of dollars to organizations that advance the propaganda views of the Chinese state media. Additionally, he supported Russian imperialism and denied the genocide against the Uyghurs.

According to an NYI investigation, Singham’s network provided funding for the news website NewsClick in Delhi, which infused talking points from the Chinese government into its reporting. One video stated that “China’s history continues to inspire the working classes.”

According to an NYT report, Singham and his allies are leading what the Communist Party calls a “smokeless war.” China has expanded its state media initiatives under Xi Jinping’s leadership, partnered with foreign publications, and fostered foreign influencers. Presenting propaganda as genuine, independent content is the main goal.

Millions of people have watched the YouTube videos created by Singham’s collectives. They engage in interactions with congressional aides, train politicians in Africa, run candidates in South African elections, and organize demonstrations like the one in London that turned violent. Their efforts also extend to influencing real-world politics.

The result is an ostensibly organic growth of left-leaning organizations that mimic Chinese government messaging, replicate one another’s opinions, and ultimately find support in Chinese state media.

Some have criticized Singham’s political activism and called him a stooge of China. Singham, however, has defended his work and claimed that his goal is merely to advance harmony and understanding between China and the West.
