Mizoram, West Bengal, Haryana, Goa are some of the states or union territories where bike taxis are legal. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra,  Tamil Nadu are  some of the states where bike taxis are illegal.

In 2018, the Indian government issued guidelines for the operation of bike taxis. These guidelines require bike taxi drivers to have a valid driving license, a helmet, and insurance. They also require bike taxis to be equipped with safety features such as a rearview mirror and a horn.

It is important to note that the legality of bike taxis can change at any time. If you are considering using a bike taxi, it is important to check the laws in the state where you are traveling or operating a bike taxi business.

Which Is India’s First Bike Taxi?

The first bike taxi in India was Rapido, which was founded in 2015. Rapido is a mobile app-based bike taxi service that allows users to book rides from licensed bike taxi drivers. The company is currently operational in over 100 cities across India.
