WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that allows users to create personalized stickers using artificial intelligence (AI).
This feature, currently available to some beta testers of the WhatsApp Android app, is expected to roll out to more users in the coming weeks. The AI stickers feature lets users generate stickers based on text-based descriptions.
To use the feature, users will find a “Create” button within the sticker tab on the keyboard. When clicked, this button prompts users to enter a description.
The AI technology then generates a set of stickers based on the description provided. These AI-generated stickers are made using secure technology developed by Meta (the parent company of WhatsApp).
The introduction of AI-generated stickers is aimed at allowing users to create custom images that reflect their interests, experiences, or conversations. This feature aims to enhance personalization and creativity in messaging.
While the AI stickers feature is currently available to some beta testers, it’s expected to be made accessible to more users in the coming weeks. WhatsApp is also reportedly adding the ability for users to report any stickers that they find inappropriate or harmful.
WhatsApp is just one of many platforms integrating AI technology to enhance user experiences. The feature has drawn comparisons to AI models like DALL-E and Midjoureny, which generate images based on text inputs.

The focus on user-generated content through AI-generated stickers demonstrates how AI is becoming a valuable tool for creative expression and communication within popular applications.
This upcoming WhatsApp’s AI-powered feature may align with the latest trends of AI technologies which will help the platform to engage more users with an enhanced way of communications.
