The Passport Seva website was to remain under maintenance from 29th August 2024 up until 2nd September 2024. But things concluded ahead of time, and the portal went live by 7:00 PM on 1st September 2024. This means you may now access all Passport Seva website services anew, including passport seva status checking.

What about the Previously Scheduled Appointments?

Don’t worry if one had booked an appointment for 30th August 2024! The arrangements for the rescheduling of those appointments had already been done through the Passport Seva website. Applicants had already been informed about the new dates so that no one would miss their important passport-related work.

Beware of Fraudulent Sites

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an alert on the existence of fake sites camouflaging as very much akin to the Passport Seva website. These fake sites demand extra charges for form filling and appointment scheduling. They are not reliable. Hence, applicants must be aware and should use the Passport Seva website at www.passportindia.gov.in to avoid fraudulent incidents.
