What Is Greywing’s SeaGPT? What Is SeaGPT Capable Of?

One more AI has been born in the race of Artificial intelligence. Greywing has launched SeaGPT. Read on to know what SeaGPT & what it is capable of!

The rise of AI has been nothing short of remarkable, with its impact felt across different sectors, including the ocean. Greywing, a Y-Combinator-backed company, has introduced a new chatbot, SeaGPT, specifically designed for the maritime industry. But what exactly can SeaGPT do, and why does it matter?

SeaGPT is a powerful tool that simplifies the crew change process for maritime managers. Its use of the GPT-4 engine and tailored programming approach make it a unique chatbot that addresses specific industry needs. With SeaGPT, managers can save time, reduce communication errors, and handle crew changes with ease.

The birth of SeaGPT matters because it highlights how AI is transforming the way humans interact with machines.

While ChatGPT and other chatbots have been developed for general purposes, SeaGPT is tailored to the specific needs of maritime crew managers. It simplifies the process of handling crew changes, a task that is typically complicated by various regulations and travel plans.

What sets SeaGPT apart from other chatbots is its use of the GPT-4 engine, which is the most advanced AI language model to date.

According to Hrishi Olickel, Greywing’s co-founder and CTO, SeaGPT’s development is the result of advancements using GPT-4 and a maritime-specific approach to programming.

SeaGPT works by automating parts of the communication process between crew managers and port agents. It can extract essential information from replies to emails and use it to draft new emails.

For instance, when there is a crew change, managers often have to exchange multiple emails with port agents, which can be time-consuming and frustrating, especially when dealing with different time zones.

SeaGPT simplifies this process by handling most of the communication and extracting necessary information from emails.

To use SeaGPT, managers can ask it to set up a crew change at any port. The chatbot will go through Greywing’s database to find relevant information about crew members and ask questions about their nationality, names, and the type of vessel. It will also inquire about immigration regulations and COVID-related restrictions.

One of the concerns with AI chatbots is their tendency to hallucinate, which can be problematic in a maritime setting.
