What Happened In Parliament Over No-Confidence, Manipur Case?

During the Monsoon session of the Indian Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced a no-confidence motion, which he successfully passed, and that was obvious!

While the outcome wasn’t surprising given the support he had, his response to the motion drew significant attention. His speech became the focal point of news coverage, discussions on television, and social media conversations.

Modi’s reply to the no-confidence motion was noteworthy for its length, lasting over 130 minutes (2 hours and 13 minutes).

He used this time to address various issues and engage in a strong rebuttal against the Opposition, particularly the Congress and the Gandhi family. He emphasized that the people of India have lost confidence in them.

In his speech, Modi addressed the situation in Manipur, acknowledging the difficulties faced by its people. He assured that both the central government and the state are working together to address the issues and bring peace to the region.

He conveyed his support to the women and daughters of Manipur, promising that every effort will be made to ensure the state’s development.

Modi criticized the politics of the Congress, blaming it for the problems in Manipur and the northeastern region as a whole. The opposition increased the crises of Manipur.

Taking a swipe at the Opposition alliance, he labeled them as a group of dynasties and accused them of spreading hate. He also questioned their credibility and mocked their decision to take support from the NDA (National Democratic Alliance).

Modi projected confidence in his return to power in 2024, expressing gratitude for the motion brought by the Opposition.

He asserted that such motions put the Opposition to the test and indicated that his party would continue to lead.

He predicted that in his third term, India would become the world’s third-largest economy and criticized the Opposition for potentially holding India back by two centuries.

Throughout the speech, Modi highlighted his government’s achievements in various sectors, including poverty alleviation, sanitation, water supply, and defense production.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition’s new name, I.N.D.I.A., during a speech in the Lok Sabha. He accused the opposition of dividing the country by creating divisions between Indians.

PM Modi stated that the opposition added two “I” to NDA, representing the arrogance of 26 parties and the Congress. He also claimed that changing their name would not help them rule India, as their actions and work are not visible to the poor.
