WD Launches Special SanDisk Storage For Content Creators In India

Western Digital in India launched Wednesday its professional storage solutions, under the SanDisk brand. The storage unit is specially launched for content creators.

Three SSDs and one docking station were unveiled during the launch. The aluminum core of the PRO-G40 SSD is designed to draw heat away from internal drives to maintain high transfer speeds. 

Dual-mode compatibility allows the drive to work with Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps), and USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps).

The enclosure is pro-grade and IP68 dust/water resistant to withstand a maximum of 1.8 tonnes crush resistance and a maximum of 3 meters drop resistance. The price of the PRO-G40 SSD is Rs 34,999

The SanDisk Professional RAID Shuttle SSD 8-bay is a portable hardware RAID SSD with Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps), and USB-C (10Gbps). It can store up to 32TB of high-performance solid state storage. 

It can transfer 4K and 8K video, as well as VR, high dynamic range, HDR, and high frame rates (HFR) footage, at a speed of up to 2800 MB/s.

The SanDisk Professional G–RAID Shuttle SSD comes with Dual Thunderbolt3 ports that allow users to daisy-chain up to five additional devices. It is available at Rs 3,99999 in India.

SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE Enterprise-Class Desktop Hard Drive offers data transfers up to 280MB/s, read and write. It has a 22TB storage capacity. It uses USB-C (10Gbps), port 7200RPM Ultrastar. 

The drive will be available in four, six, twelve, twelve, 18, and 22TB capacities. The SanDisk Professional G-RAID is priced at Rs 19,999

According to SanDisk Professional PRODOCK 4, the 4-bay reader docking station is designed to capture and ingest data. This saves time when working with multi-camera productions. 

Thunderbolt (40Gbps), Thunderbolt connectivity is available and the dock can be attached to a DIT Cart, or any other gear. The price of the unit is Rs 34,999

Western Digital called the content created by new age content creators “unprecedented”. They claim that 350GB of content is created each month by individual creators and that a Bollywood movie needs between 200-300 TB storage. 

Their SanDisk professional portfolio aims to enable creators to effectively capture, transfer and manage production assets.

SanDisk Professional Pro-BLADE TRANSPORT, SSD Mag and SanDisk ProfessionalPRO-READER SD were also among the products that were launched at the event.
