Vivek Agnihotri’s Podcast With Sudhir Mishra, Truth Revealed

Last updated on July 25th, 2023 at 11:14 am

Vivek Agnihotri was welcomed in the podcast with Sudhir Mishra. Vivek has revealed many truths & also mentioned the reason behind the fall of the Bollywood industry.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has criticized the content of recent Bollywood films, saying that they fail to address the concerns of the middle-class audience.

In a recent podcast with filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, Agnihotri stated that the over-exposure and vulgar display of physical attitude in films has irritated people, and there is no relatability to the characters or stories.

He pointed out that films like ‘Student of the Year’ do not depict the reality of the youth in the country, and that the audience is being disrespected by such films.

Agnihotri also questioned why nobody besides him and Kangana Ranaut is questioning the practices of the Hindi film industry, which he considers to be an establishment.

He argued that if the establishment does something wrong, then people have the right to question it, including intellectuals and liberals. He also emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns of the common man in films, which he believes is lacking in current Bollywood movies.

When Sudhir Mishra suggested that the audience has become ‘lazy’, Vivek Agnihotri disagreed and argued that the issue lies with the films being made today. He called for a re-evaluation of the target audience and the concerns addressed in films.

Agnihotri’s criticism of Bollywood’s content is not new, and he has been vocal about it on social media. He has also faced backlash for his film The Kashmir Files, which has been accused of being propaganda and spreading misinformation. However the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is based on the true events about the tyranny of the Kashmiri Pandits.

Vivek Agnihotri’s criticisms of Bollywood seem justified, as many recent films have been criticized for their lack of relatability and shallow storytelling.

It is important for filmmakers to address the concerns of their audience, particularly the middle-class, and provide relatable and thought-provoking content.

As Agnihotri pointed out, questioning the practices of any establishment is necessary for progress and improvement.
