Vijay Diwas 2022: India Celebrates Its Victory Over Pakistan In 1971 War

India is celebrating the Vijay Diwas 2022 today for the victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war. The 13-day war ended on 16th December, 1971.

Today, India is marking Vijay Diwas to commemorate its victory over Pakistan in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. This day is dedicated to the sacrifices of military heroes and lavish tributes are paid. 

On December 16, 1971, Pakistani forces under General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi surrendered to the coalition forces of Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora in Dhaka. 

The conflict ended in Bangladesh’s independence. The 1971 war changed relations between the United States of America and South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. 

Vijay Diwas is dedicated to the victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistani troops during the Indo-Pakistani War in 1971. 

The nation remembers those who gave their lives for their country. The 13-day war between India and Pakistan ended on December 16, 1971. 

A new country was created, Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, the day is known as Bijoy Dibos or Victory Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “On Vijay Diwas’ eve, I attended the ‘At home’ reception at Army House. 

In a tweet, Modi stated that India will not forget the valor of the Armed Forces which led to victory in the 1971 War.

On the eve Vijay Diwas, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the At Home reception at Army House.

Rajnath Singh stated, “Today on Vijay Diwas the Nation salutes India’s Armed Forces for their exemplary courage, bravery, and sacrifice. 1971 was the victory of humanity over inhumanity and virtue over misconduct, justice over injustice. In a tweet, India was proud of its Armed Forces”

People, politicians, soldiers, and people from the armed forces pay tribute to these brave warriors. 

The 13-day conflict ended when the Pakistani Army surrendered to the government on December 16, 1971. Vijay Diwas also commemorates Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan.
