US To Give ’21-Gun Salute’ Welcome To PM Modi In White House

The US has said that Modi’s upcoming visit highlights the rising importance of India in global affairs & strengthening the bilateral relations between US & India.

The US National Security Council’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, has expressed enthusiasm for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US from June 21 to June 24.

The US-India defense partnership is significant, and the cooperation within the Quad, spanning across the Indo-Pacific region, is terrific.

The US Department of State spokesperson, John Kirby, has not yet determined the agenda for the state visit of President Joe Biden and PM Modi.

The Indian Prime Minister is scheduled to address the chairman and CEOs of leading US companies at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington and speak to a joint session of the US Congress on June 22.

The White House has issued a statement emphasizing the importance of reaffirming the deep and close alliance between the two countries.

Modi has expressed his pride in the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the United States, which is based on democratic values, strong people-to-people connections, and a dedication to global peace and prosperity.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced that the country is on the verge of a historic state visit by Modi, which he believes will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The US views the relationship between India and the US as a defining one, as it involves the world’s oldest and largest democracies.

The US has received a whopping $54 billion in investment from American companies, with Indian companies investing over $40 billion in sectors such as IT and pharmaceuticals in the US, creating employment opportunities for around 425,000 people across states like California and Georgia.

The arrival of PM Modi is eagerly awaited by the Indian immigrants in the US. Over 7000 Indian Americans are set to gather on the South Lawns of the White House on June 22 to witness the arrival of PM Modi. The US President Biden and the First Lady will welcome him with a 21-gun salute.
