US-India Business Council Launches AI Task Force To Drive Innovation

The US-India Business Council (USIBC) has launched an Artificial Intelligence Task Force (AI-TF) to bring together leaders from India and the US to work on artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.

The AI-TF aims to promote the development and commercialization of AI technologies, as well as drive multistakeholder processes and advance AI concepts and principles.

The task force is built on the Chamber of Commerce’s AI principles and endorsement of the OECD’s recommendations on AI.

USIBC President Ambassador Atul Keshap described the AI Task Force (AI-TF) as a “game-changer” and emphasized its importance in the rapidly evolving landscape of AI.

The goal is to harness the potential of AI to enhance competitiveness in both the US and Indian economies and benefit society as a whole.

The task force aims to shape a future where AI is a catalyst for progress, upholding shared values and democratic principles.

The industry leaders on the AI-TF include Kamal Ahluwalia, President at Ikigai Labs; Todd Skinner, President of International at TransUnion; and Ed Knight, USIBC Board Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq.

The task force will encourage a principled approach to AI adoption, ensuring that the technology is used safely and securely.

The USIBC looks forward to collaborating with the US and India to strengthen their leadership in AI.

Partnerships are seen as crucial for the future of a trustworthy and secure AI enterprise.

US National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan highlighted the need for researchers to collaborate and share resources to drive innovation while upholding shared values and principles.

Collaboration is also important in addressing challenges in other sectors, such as water management.

The launch of the AI-TF is a significant step toward fostering a deeper partnership on innovative and transformative technologies.
