US Faces Mass Shooting At Florida Beach Hollywood On Memorial Day

Another mass shooting happened in the United States. 9 people were injured on the Florida beach boardwalk. The US has been a victim of mass shootings for many years.

On Memorial Day, a mass shooting occurred at a beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida, leaving nine people injured. 

The incident unfolded in the evening when gunfire erupted, causing panic and chaos as people scrambled for safety. 

Some of the victims were taken to a children’s hospital, but no information has been released about their ages or conditions.

According to preliminary investigations, the shooting was the result of an altercation between two groups. One person has been detained, while another suspect is still being sought by the police. 

The incident took place near a convenience store, a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop, and a Subway sandwich shop along the boardwalk.

Witnesses at the scene described the terrifying moments when the shots rang out. Alvie Carlton Scott III, who was on the beach, took cover behind a tree before eventually fleeing upon hearing a police officer urging people to run. 

Another witness, Jamie Ward, reported that a group of young men was fighting, and one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Videos shared on social media showed emergency medical crews responding to the scene and providing aid to the injured individuals. 

In response to the shooting, authorities have increased police presence in the area, and efforts are being made to set up a designated location for families to reunite.

Hollywood Beach, located south of Fort Lauderdale and north of Miami, is a popular destination known for its vibrant atmosphere and attracts numerous visitors, especially during the Memorial Day holiday period.

Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy expressed gratitude to the first responders and medical personnel who swiftly attended to the victims. 

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are working diligently to gather more information and ensure the safety of the community.
