US Announces $2.5 Billion Additional Weapons For Ukraine

The US has declared total $27.5 military assistance. The new package includes more air defense support, Avenger air defense systems & surface-to-air missiles.

In order to help Ukraine fight off Russian aggression, the United States has issued another military aid package for USD 2.5 billion, bringing the total amount of US military aid to USD 27.5 billion.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Thursday that “this assistance package will offer Ukraine with hundreds of increased armored vehicles, along with Stryker armored personnel carriers, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled vehicles.”

According to him, the package also includes very important extra air defense assistance for Ukraine, including additional Avenger air defense systems, surface-to-air missiles, and additional previously supplied American ammunition for NASAMS.

In addition, it includes small guns and ammunition, night vision gear, and other supplies to help Ukraine in its valiant defense of its citizens, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, according to a statement from Blinken.

According to him, “this package, totaling USD 2.5 billion, will raise the total US military support for Ukraine to an unparalleled USD 27.5 billion since the inception of the administration.”

“Additionally, the United States keeps urging people throughout the world to assist Ukraine. At today’s Ukraine Defence Contact Group, among other occasions, we have witnessed amazing solidarity from our allies and partners, and we commend the more than 50 nations that have banded together to contribute significantly to Ukraine’s support”, he said.

The Kremlin’s most recent airstrikes against Ukraine’s vital infrastructure, according to a separate statement from the Pentagon, once more highlight the devastating effects of Russia’s ruthless assault in that country.

According to the statement, this package offers more NASAMS bombs and Avenger air defense systems to support Ukraine’s layered air defense and assist it in fending off a variety of short- and medium-range threats.

The Pentagon stated that the 59 Bradley IFVs in this package, along with the 50 Bradleys already committed on January 6 and the 90 Stryker APCs, will give Ukraine two brigades of armored capability.
