UAE Expands Visa-Free Entry for Indian Nationals with US, UK, and EU Visas

According to WAM, The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICA) in UAE has said that it is increasing visa exemption for Indians. This new policy will apply to those with tourist visas from the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom together with residents in these areas. The move is expected to enhance the economic relation between UAE and India, increase tourism and bring in talent from around the world. The ICA has also introduced new fees for some other visa services provided to the Indian citizens.

Enhanced Entry Options for Indian Travelers

The enhanced visa has granted the freedom to Indian citizens to travel to UAE and dwell within the stipulated period without the need to apply for visa after they have paid the necessary fees. This applies to those who have genuine visa or passport of EU, US or UK with a remaining validity of not less than six months. It forms part of the UAE’s plans to enhance the country’s status as a premier tourist and business destination besides promoting closer relations with India.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICA stressed that the decision is in line with the vision of the sustained strategic partnership between the two countries UAE and India. The move is also anticipated to increase bilateral trade, attract investment and encourage both business people, talents and professionals to select UAE as their preferred investment and recreation place.

New Fee Structure for Visa Services

The ICA has recently released new fee structure for the services offered to the Indian citizens. An entry visa with validity for fourteen days will cost AED 100 to the Indian passport holder who fulfills the criteria. The visa can be extended for a total of 14 more days at a fee of AED 250. Visa for 60 days shall cost AED 250 to the applicants who want to avail it. All these fees are applicable to the main visa applicant and also those who are expected to accompany him/her.

These new fees were introduced following a recent Cabinet decision and are intended to simplify procedures for Indians wishing to enter the UAE. These are more realistic and reasonable in order to meet the goal of the country’s tourist and economic policies to make UAE even more attractive to the Indian tourists and professionals.
