Drills and Cyber ​​Future Leaders: UAE Cyber ​​Security Council is going to launch a ‘Defensive Shield’ exercise to enhance cyber skills, awareness & cyber protection.

In order to improve the response in the education sector, the Cyber Security Council conducted the “Defensive Shield” exercise, which included multiple presentations to simulate various cyberattacks. 

This was done in collaboration with commercial alliances from educational entities and national universities in the country.

The “Defensive Shield” exercise in the education sector is one of a number of training for cyber attacks with the goal of identifying surveillance and response procedures in a way that improves the preparedness of educational institutions to cope with cybersecurity incidents and respond to them proactively and professionally.

In order to train different educational institutions and evaluate their capabilities in the areas of crisis management, rapid response to electronic incidents, and an extensive vision of cyber security to support the nation’s defense operations against various cyberattacks, the “Defensive Shield” exercise included modeled scenarios of a series of cyberattacks in a controlled environment.

According to him, the “Defensive Shield” exercise in the educational sector and the widespread participation in training demonstrate the high level of interest in increasing the effectiveness of all participating work teams, as well as reinforcing collaboration to deal with urgent cyber threats and incidents, setting adequate proactive plans to deal with various scenarios, and ensuring the responsiveness of cyber operations centers.

Cyber ​​Drills – Future Leaders in Security

The Chief of Cyber Security noted that the training scenarios covered training on safeguarding networks, information systems, and cloud computing, as well as detection and protection of malware, ransomware, cyber targeting operations, malware investigation, reverse engineering, and internal threat.

It’s important to note that the “Defensive Shield” exercise focuses on a variety of strategic sectors, helping to improve their cyber capabilities, develop and implement deployable steps to monitor and respond to different cyberattacks and incidents, and identify doable steps to enhance planning and performance in line with international best practices.
