UAE Becomes Top Choice for Asian Tech Workers

United Arab Emirates (UAE) is becoming one of the most promising IT markets, which is interesting to IT specialists from Asia. According to a new survey carried out by Capital. According to them, 81% of the Asian technology workers consider the UAE as an emerging hub for technology.

The survey is based on the opinion of 1000 tech professionals from Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and India about working in a foreign country. Some 45% said they would consider relocating to the UAE for employment purposes. This makes the UAE more popular for Asian technology talent than Germany which is home to only 38% of such talent and Hong Kong with only 20%.

The UAE is now pitching itself against emerging technology markets that are already established such as Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Nevertheless, 46% of the respondents would consider relocation to Singapore, 57% to the UK, and 52% to the US. The rapid increase in the UAE can be considered as a major shift in the preferences of talent-seeking nations.

Tarik Chebib – CEO of Capital. He said that according to the survey, UAE is getting more significant in tech in the Middle East for com. He pointed out that it is quite refreshing the UAE is now on the list of the UK, US, and Singapore as popular destinations for tech talents.

This is due to the increasing support of the UAE government towards the tech industry. Respondents were clear that government support is critical for the development of a healthy technology sector: an astounding 93% of them so stated. Some of the policies that the UAE has put in place to support business expansion and innovation have contributed to the country’s appeal to businesses and employees.

Other things that make the UAE appealing include:

– Banking, visa, healthcare, and real estate services for tech workers (74%)

– Good quality of life (60%)

– Competitive salaries (54%)

– Strategic location (52%)

This is something that the Indian-based cross-border e-tailer, Daraz, which began its UAE division in Dubai in March 2024, has observed. The company is a member of the UAE’s #NextGenFDI program and has been able to recruit talents globally.

According to Chebib, workers need to transfer to a country that will fulfill their individual and professional requirements, and also opportunities for innovation and career progression. Given the rising numbers of professionals who are open to new opportunities – 47% of the participants in the survey were actively searching for new positions, the UAE has an excellent opportunity to attract talented people and continue to strengthen its positions in the global tech market.
