10 Top IT Professionals Who Are IIT Alumni

Speak about the best of Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay) and there are some of the best entrepreneurs and corporates who are ruling the roost in the global economy. Here is a lowdown on some of them:

Parag Aggarwal

He joined Twitter in 2011 and has risen to the ranks of CEO through sheer intelligence and hard work. He is a proud IIT Bombay alumni who finished his PHD in Computer Science from Stanford University also did a small stint with Microsoft.

Salil Parekh

The CEO of Infosys is a proud alumnus of IIT (Bombay) too. Parekh has to his credit having saved the face of Infosys after he took over reigns in 2018.  An aeronautical engineering degree from IIT, and a Cornell graduate in Mechanical Engineering, he has been a veteran with Capgemini and Ernst & Young.

K. Sivan

Kailasavadivoo Sivan, is known as Rocket Mani. He has made outstanding contributions to the development of cryogenic engines for the Indian space programme is currently the ISRO Chairman.

Bhavish Aggarwal

He is the proud co-founder of Ola Cabs. Before doing this, he worked with Microsoft as he graduated from IIT (Bombay) in Computer Science.

Nandan Nilekani

An entrepreneur in his own right, he is one of the founding members of Infosys and worked for a long time with UIDAI, the Adhaar issuing authority.

Rahul Yadav

He is the former CEO of housing.com.  He was fired for some reasons of controversy, before he started the venture that made real estate accessible to people via the internet.

An unassuming artist, he pursued his BTech in Metallurgical Engineering before becoming a writer and director.He directed the movie Dangal.

Sarita Adve

An alumnus of IIT (Bombay) she is currently a professor at the University of Illinois. She has been instrumental in contributing towards memory consistency models for multiprocessors, memory system performance, hardware reliability and power management.

Parul Gupta

She is now working as President at Springboard.
