Neeraj Chopra’s 89.94m effort in the Stockholm Diamond League broke the national record for the 2nd time in a month. 

Just six centimeters separated Chopra’s throw in June 2022 from the 90-meter threshold, which he is sure of crossing. 

This represents his current personal best. Anderson Peters of Grenada won the gold with a throw that broke the Meeting Record of 90.31 meters. This was Neeraj Chopra best throw till date.

2) Paavo Nurmi Games Finland 2022 (89.30 m)

Neeraj Chopra competed in the Paavo Nurmi Games two weeks prior to his achievements in Sweden and managed a throw of 89.30 meters, a national record and his personal record at the time.

Paavo Nurmi Games saw one of the neeraj chopra highest throw. With this effort, he was able to place second to Oliver Helander of Finland and win a silver medal. With a throw of 89.93 meters, the home favorite dominated the standings.

3) World Athletics Championships Oregon 2022 – Qualifiers (88.39 m)

Neeraj Chopra frequently only needs one try to surpass the qualifying mark, as he proved at Hayward Field in Eugene, when his throw of 88.39 meters easily allowed him to surpass the 83.50-meter threshold.

5) Indian Grand Prix 3 Patiala 2021 (88.07 m)

On this day, a nation’s hopes and aspirations were planted. After a prolonged injury layoff of more than a year, Neeraj Chopra was able to throw 88.07 meters. 

Chopra’s throw and post-event remarks, which he made after securing a spot in the Tokyo Olympics, were full of hope and promise with the intention of making Olympic history, which he did later that year.

Neeraj Chopra is getting closer to the desired 90-meter threshold, and passing that mark will be a huge step in his quest for additional medal success. On August 5 in Birmingham, he will have to defend his Commonwealth Games victory.
