1. Derek ‘Bertie’ Smalls

In the 1960s and 1970s, armed robberies were frequently committed in Great Britain by Derek Smalls. In 1970, he committed his most infamous theft at the Ilford Barclay’s Bank branch, fleeing with a stunning £237,000, a sum that was a record at the time.

2. Doris Payne

World-famous diamond thief Doris Payne has been working for more than seven decades. The theft of a 10-carat diamond ring worth $500,000 by her in Monte Carlo in the 1970s made her famous.
