Bollywood is well-known around the world for its colorful, breathtaking, and deeply emotional storylines. Indian filmmakers have become experts in transforming memorable language, eye-catching imagery, attractive music, and gripping narrative into immediate mood enhancers throughout the years.

Here are the top 10 feel-good hindi movies to watch in 2024 when someone is having a bad day or going through a rough patch.

1. Zindagi na Milegi Dobara (2011)

Adventures with friends are usually a terrific way to decompress. This one, which was directed by Zoya Akhtar, takes us on a trip with Arjun, Kabir, and Imraan—three realistic yet endearingly eccentric pals. The film is humorous and endearing, and it is set against the exotic and scenic backdrop of Spain, where the three choose to live life to the fullest just before Kabir gets married.

‘Zindagi na Milegi Dobara’, from learning to jump to taking part in the exhilarating bull race to falling in love with the scuba instructor, is both horribly heartbreaking and ridiculously funny. You smile as you start the narrative, continue to smile after it’s over, and come out of it feeling happy, nostalgic, and full of renewed motivation to accept life’s minor imperfections.

2. Hera Pheri (2000)

A timeless comedy, Hera Pheri reinvented slapstick humor and ridiculous plots. The narrative follows the absurd exploits of Raju, Shyam, and Baburao—a group of two tenants and their landlord—as they lurch from misfortune to misfortune in their desperate attempt to become wealthy.

They are interested in a ransom call, and they plan to get the ransom. With precisely the right amount of humorous timing, Akshay Kumar effortlessly blends in with Sunil Shetty’s outrageous actions and his funny line delivery. The entire film is a hilarious comedy that you will want to see again and again.

3. Dear Zindagi (2016)

Dear Zindagi is the best movie ever made on mental health issues and getting treatment. A generation of young people who want to be heard and understood was infuriated by the movie. In her role as Kaira, a young cinematographer struggling through life with a heavy heart, Alia Bhatt gives a restrained, powerful performance.

Her relationships suffer as a result of her lack of parental care and support throughout her life. But until she starts treatment, she is never able to deal with the problem completely.

Shah Rukh Khan portrays Jug, her eccentric and endearing psychotherapist, flawlessly. He assists her in releasing her burdens and realizing her right to happiness again. The film is a tribute to healing, which is perhaps one of the most significant themes that film can depict.

4. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, in full swing, celebrates adventure, romance, and youth. Kabir ‘Bunny’ Thapar, played by Ranbir Kapoor, is a vivacious playboy who is pursuing his career as a travel photographer but is locked in his own world. Naina, played by Deepika Padukone, is a bookworm who wants to be a doctor and is a true nerd.

While hiking in Manali with Aditi and Avi, the two cross paths. New feelings are felt throughout their vivid time together, yet they split ways only to get back together after 20 years. The film is incredibly bubbly and free-flowing, fulfilling all of its promises, whether it is because of its memorable songs or the whole bad-boy-good-girl cliché.

5. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008)

When it comes to defining the coming-of-age genre in Bollywood, Jai and Aditi are indelible. They give off the impression of being two carefree spirits and best friends who are just cruising through life with their quirky pals. They both choose to look for their true mate while being single and oblivious to their sentiments. Ultimately, there is a gratifying conclusion as the distinctions between friendship and anything more start to converge.

6. Welcome (2007)

Welcome is a daring and delightful comedy that amuses you to no end with its hilarious humor and refreshing honesty. Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Pateker, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Feroz Khan, and Ranjeet are among the all-star cast members in the film, and they’re all amazing in their parts.

7. The Lunchbox (2013)

In the delightful chaos of Mumbai, two strangers discover purpose and comfort from one other when an honest mistake crosses their paths in this lovely treasure. Irrfan Khan portrays widower accountant Saajan Fernandes in The Lunchbox, who is set to retire. The character Ila, played by Nimrat Kaur, is a young housewife whose marriage has devolved into a tedious routine. The film is about how they come across each other and the story which develops.

8. Jab We Met (2007)

Jab We Met is regarded as one of the best romantic films to be ever made in bollywood and one of the best works of actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The 2007 film is a romantic comedy and has become a cult classic among its fans over the years.

9. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

The directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar, Dil Chahta Hai, is considered to be a film way ahead of its time and it follows the story of three friends, Akash, Sid and Sameer, and how their friendship transforms over the years. Dil Chahta Hai explores life’s deepest pains and celebrates life’s greatest joys.

10. 3 Idiots (2009)

Rajkumar Hirani’s film 3 Idiots portrayed friendship, college life, creativity, and pursuing one’s aspirations. The journeys of three engineering students are chronicled: Rancho, the smart but rebellious vagrant; Raju, the overachiever and paranoid; and Farhan, the socially awkward and lost person.
