‘Tiger 3’ To Get Banned In Gulf Countries, Gets U/A Certificate

The film “Tiger 3,” is stirring up quite a bit of discussion this week. This film, directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, is the latest addition to the popular Tiger franchise.

The main stars in “Tiger 3” are Salman Khan, who plays the character Avinash “Tiger” Singh Rathore, a RAW agent, and Katrina Kaif, portraying Zoya Humaimi, an ISI agent and Tiger’s wife.

Other notable cast members include Emraan Hashmi, Revathi, and Ashutosh Rana, among others. Even Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan make cameo appearances in the film.

“Tiger 3” follows the storyline of the previous movies in the franchise. It’s a high-budget action thriller film with a budget of around Rs 300 crore.

The movie has been eagerly awaited by some fans and was set to release on Diwali, November 12. However, there’s been a recent development that has caught everyone’s attention.

Reports have emerged that “Tiger 3” has been banned in several Middle Eastern countries, including Oman, and Kuwait. This decision has come as a setback for the film’s producers, who were expecting it to break various box office records.

The reason behind this ban is reported to be the portrayal of Muslim characters in the film, which these countries perceive as negative.

There is also a possibility that the “Tiger 3” film is facing a ban in Gulf countries partly due to a scene involving Katrina Kaif’s character in a towel fight.

While there’s no official confirmation, various reports, and internet discussions indicate that this scene, along with other content in the film, may have led to the ban in these countries.

Regarding the changes made by the Censor Board, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed “Tiger 3” without any cuts, awarding it a U/A certificate.

However, the Censor Board made only a few changes in the film. One notable alteration was the replacement of the word ‘bewakoof’ (idiot) with ‘Mashroof’, ‘foolish’ with ‘busy’ and adjusting the English subtitles accordingly.

Additionally, the depiction of the Indian Intelligence Agency ‘RAW’ was slightly modified in the dialogues as per the Censor Board’s suggestion.

As for the five films in the Tiger franchise, it’s a bit unclear. While “Tiger 3” is a sequel to “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017) and is part of the YRF Spy Universe. “War” (2019) and “Pathaan” (2023) are also being counted as the parts of the five films in the franchise.
