The United Arab Emirates is going to launch its first Metaverse Network Hospital by October, 2022. It will be under the management of Thumbay Group.
The Thumbay Group will be in charge of overseeing the Medical Metaverse, which is scheduled to be completely operational by October.
It will be a fully working simulated hospital where patients may go and interact with doctors using avatars.
For long-term care needed patients who are confined to a bed, paralyzed, or have spent at least six months in the hospital, Dr. Thumbay’s company already provides augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) tech services.
The proposed initiative is being developed with the goal of broadening the demographics that the business may serve, including individuals with long-term disabilities.

The decision on pricing, according to Thumbay, has not yet been made, but it will be consistent with the teleconsultation fee levied by the healthcare operator.
As a result, operations at the hospital or pharmacy will be made easier, according to the vice president of Thumbay Group, who also disclosed that the company would incorporate artificial intelligence for patient recognition into the hospital system.
The president and founder of Thumbay Group, Dr. Thumbay Moideen, said that they are already working on it and anticipate launching it before October this year.
This will be a full-fledged virtual hospital where patients can visit the doctor while wearing an avatar.
They will let patients who visit the Thumbay healthcare center view what the hospital looks like in the metaverse in order to cater to medical tourism.
For them to be able to see their homes, the hospital is providing AR and VR headsets.
For instance, a Sri Lankan individual who was paralyzed following a vehicle accident and has been under Thumbay’s care for a long time only has his brain functioning; all of his sensory motions have been lost.
Through the use of AR and VAR technologies, he may virtually visit his accommodation in Sri Lanka.
This inspires patients in long-term care and offers them hope that they can return home.
In the midst of the present crypto culture, different governments and institutions have continued to show interest in the UAE Metaverse and related Web3.0 initiatives.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Community Protection inaugurated the first customer service center using metaverse technologies in January in Dubai (MOHAP).
The country is now ready to introduce the first hospital in the metaverse. All of the doctors at the UAE healthcare system will soon receive training from a firm on how to interact with patients in the metaverse.
