The UAE To Host Abu Dhabi Space Debate By Defining Future of Global Space Sector

The UAE is going to host the Abu Dhabi Space Debate & host 180 nations to formulate new international space policies, under the leadership of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

A global summit on the need for international engagement and cooperation in the growth of the space sector will be held in Abu Dhabi. 

The Abu Dhabi Space Debate is scheduled to take place in the month of December in this year 2022.

Abu Dhabi Space Debate Global Forum

The international event known as the Abu Dhabi Space Debate is scheduled to take place on 5th & 6th December, 2022, under the leadership of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. 

The two-day conference, which is being held by the UAE Space Agency, is expected to establish a significant new international forum for the space industry, countries, business leaders, and policy makers to come together, forge true consensus, and address the problems preventing growth and innovation in space.

Message From HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed

The UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, “The UAE is proud to be hosting the Abu Dhabi Space Debate in December. The event is a platform to facilitate dialogue and aims to strengthen cooperation, formulate new international policies and develop solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in the global space sector.”

The Abu Dhabi Space Debate aims to develop not just international conversation and collaboration between states but also forge tangible alliances, multilateral agreements, and provide a platform to progress the sector as a whole.

It provides space leaders & policy makers from the space sector throughout the world with a forum to assess the potential and difficulties facing the sector.

The Message From UAE Space Agency

Speaking on behalf of the UAE Space Agency and the Abu Dhabi Space Debate Committee, Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, remarked –

“We are seeing a huge expansion in organizations developing space capabilities and potential, but that growth in the sector brings challenges, ranging from preservation of national interests through to the regulation of private sector players. 

The Abu Dhabi Space Debate aims to create a global platform that will bring together a diverse and challenging audience and forge concrete progress in advancing international co-operation, standards and policy-setting for the space sector.”

UAE Space Sector & International Space Station

With 19 Earth-orbiting satellites in operation and ten more in development, the UAE’s space sector is a thriving and quickly expanding source of economic growth.

The UAE is dedicated to long-term interplanetary exploration missions and the expedited growth of its developing commercial sector space ecosystem.

It has over 50 organizations and institutes, five research centers for space sciences, and a significant educational sector in these fields.

AbuDhabi Space Debate Welcomes The World

Leaders and decision-makers from the public and private space sectors will attend the inaugural Abu Dhabi Space Debate, including those from India, China, Europe, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. 

The launch of the new platform coincides with a crucial period in the expansion and evolution of human space exploration due to the proliferation of new countries vying for space capabilities and the rapid development of a global private sector.
