The film ‘The Kerala Story’ is a dramatic representation of the true stories of 32,000 women from Kerala who were radicalized to join the ISIS terrorist ranks.
The film depicts how innocent Hindu and Christian girls are systematically trapped into love jihad and converted to Islam.
It shows how the toolkit of systematically trapping and converting non-Muslim girls includes insulting Hindu and Christian deities, glorifying burqa and hijab, and imposing a notion on their minds that no one except Allah can be worshiped.
The girls converted through this modus operandi are then trafficked to ISIS-hit middle eastern countries. The converted girls from Kerala were used by terrorists for various terror activities and also as sex slaves.
The film narrates the pain of 32,000 such converted Muslim women from Kerala who were sent to ISIS as terrorists only to get buried in the deserts of Yemen and Syria.
The trailer of the film was released on 26th April 2023, and the film will be released on 5th May 2023 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam language.
The Congress had demanded a ban on the film in November 2022 when its teaser was released, claiming that it spreads misinformation.
A Tamil Nadu-based journalist also requested the Central Board of Film Certification to place a ban on the film unless the director and producer submit documents confirming the veracity of the information presented in the teaser.
The movie ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on true events and portrays the stories of Hindu and Christian girls in Kerala who were lured into love jihad by Islamists and then sent to Iraq and Syria to join the ISIS terrorist organization.

The movie begins by introducing the lead character Shalini Unnikrishnan, played by Adah Sharma, and her Hindu family.
Later, Shalini reveals to the investigating officers that she worked as an ISIS terrorist and explains why and how she joined the terrorist organization.
The film shows how innocent Hindu girls are systematically trapped into love jihad and converted to Islam. The role of Muslim clerics in radicalisation is also clearly highlighted in the movie.
The toolkit of trapping and converting non-Muslim girls includes insulting Hindu and Christian deities, glorifying burqa and hijab as the shield saving a woman’s dignity, imposing a notion on their minds that no one except Allah can be worshiped, impregnating non-Muslim girls so that they marry the planted Muslim lover to avoid facing the social stigma.
