The film “The Kerala Story” has achieved remarkable success at the box office by earning over ₹200 crore in just 18 days, despite facing bans in some states.

The movie, directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, was made with a modest budget of ₹30-35 crore.

The film’s box office collections in Kerala have been exceptional. Even though it encountered controversies and bans, it has continued to attract audiences and generate substantial revenue.

On the 18th day after its release, “The Kerala Story” reportedly earned ₹5.50 crore, bringing the total collection to ₹205.50 crore.

Despite the challenges and controversies surrounding the film, it has received immense support and positive feedback from the audience.

The film has maintained its strong performance at the box office, unaffected by the bans and controversies it faced.

“The Kerala Story,” directed and written by Sudipto Sen, revolves around the real-life incidents of a Hindu woman from Kerala, played by Adah Sharma.

The story follows her journey as she, along with two female friends, is coerced or deceived into accepting Islam and traveling to Syria.

The film sheds light on the plight of women who were victims of dangerous situations, with reports and evidence presented by Kerala’s former Chief Minister, real victims, and various organizations.

Since the release of the film’s trailer, it has attracted scrutiny and has faced calls for a ban. The trailer focuses on the stories of three women, but the film portrays incidents involving over 32,000 women who have been victims of cases related to Love Jihad, human trafficking, rape, torture and terrorism.

In addition to Adah Sharma, “The Kerala Story” features Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani in significant roles.

The film’s success at the box office demonstrates its strong appeal to audiences and their appreciation for its depiction of real-life incidents.

“The Kerala Story” has surpassed expectations by achieving tremendous commercial success despite the challenges it faced.

Its remarkable box office performance highlights the film’s impact and the audience’s awareness towards the real crimes of Love Jihad, human trafficking, terrorism etc.
