The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 3: Film Collects Over ₹35 Crore

The Kerala Story is based on real-life incidents of 32,000 Kerala women who were brainwashed & converted into Islam. Later they were forced to join terrorist groups.

Adah Sharma starrer film ‘The Kerala Story’ has had a smashing opening weekend at the box office, despite facing backlash from opposition political parties and some communities. 

Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani. The film’s collection stood at almost ₹20 crore on its first two days and raked in a massive ₹16.50 crore on Sunday, bringing the total collection to Rs 35.75 crore. 

The film enjoyed a 52.92% occupancy in the Hindi market and is already considered a hit. Though the collection may dip slightly during weekdays, the lack of any major competition in theaters, except for Hollywood’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, is expected to attract audiences to the film.

Some opposition political parties & religious communities are protesting against this film as the film reveals the harsh truth of terrorism, love jihad & human trafficking of Kerala women. 

The official description of the film stated that more than 32,000 Kerala women had been radicalized by Islamic fundamentalists. Despite facing criticisms and threats of protests, the film had received a good response from the audience.

Is ‘The Kerala Story’ movie based on a true story?

Yes ‘The Kerala Story’ is 100% inspired from real life events. There are several cases registered and many Kerala women revealed the shocking truth of how they got brainwashed into converting to Islam by their Muslim girls who were their college friends. Later they were dragged into ISIS or became victims of human trafficking to UAE & Arab countries.

Is Kerala story a propaganda movie?

Many opposition parties and some regional communities are claiming that ‘The Kerala Story’ is a propaganda movie. But actually the movie is based on the real events about how 32,000 Kerala women are converted into Islam & forced to join ISIS terrorist groups.
