‘The Gaming Project’ Raises $500,000 As Seed Funding

The Gaming Project, an Indian cloud gaming platform, has secured USD 500,000 in startup capital from some innovative companies.

FAAD Network, Upsparks, BlackKite, SucCEED Innovation Fund, among others, provided seed funding to The Gaming Project.

Platforms such as MaGEHold and Hem Angels also took part in the round, according to the press release.

Cloud gaming is an online gaming format in which the game is hosted on remote servers. Users may play whatever game they wish without having to spend money on pricey gaming setups.

The Co-founder of ‘The Gaming Project’ said,

“Our entire goal up until our first raise was to make sure we spend as few resources as possible, but at the same time achieve a product market fit that is appreciated by everyone in the gaming community and actually answer the question of whether cloud gaming is possible in India or not.”

With its cloud gaming platform, The Gaming Project (TGP) is decentralizing access to AAA games by allowing consumers to play any video game/AAA game on any mobiles, laptops or other devices.

Even with low specifications, such devices may use TGP to play the most complex console/PC games.

The Gaming Project has subscribed more than 300,000 players on its platform since going online in March 2020, according to the statement.

The Gaming Project was supported by following:

  • A&W Capital, a boutique sports and gaming investment bank, and
  • Huddle, a sector-agnostic accelerator for early-stage start-ups.

The CEO of FAAD Network, Aditya Arora said,

“With over 100 million online gamers, India alone is a two-billion-dollar market opportunity for the eSports industry.

This market could be further extended if there is a solution built for smooth streaming without buying any expensive gaming rig.

This is where our thought school aligned with what Sarang and Manan are building at “The Gaming Project”.

Their relentless focus on building the right quality of product while keeping customers supreme is what we think is a deadly combination for them to scale bigger and faster in the times to come.”
