Thalapathy Vijay‘s highly anticipated film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has set new benchmarks in the film industry with a staggering ₹16 crore in worldwide bookings. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this high-octane action thriller is one of the most awaited releases of the year, hitting theaters on Thursday, September 5. Rumors suggest this could be Vijay’s second-to-last film before he ventures into politics.
According to reports from Sacnilk GOAT has already garnered ₹11 crore in ticket sales for its opening day, with additional blocked seats pushing the total to an impressive ₹14.6 crore.
The film has performed exceptionally well in Tamil-speaking regions, where it has collected ₹11.2 crore, with the average ticket price hovering around ₹208. The advance sales have been relatively modest at ₹4 lakh in Maharashtra, and the Delhi-NCR region has contributed less than ₹2 lakh. GOAT has also made waves in the US, raking in ₹5.5 crore and surpassing the booking records previously held by Vijay’s Beast.
GOAT stars Prashant, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram and Sneha. The film also stars Meenakshi Choudhary, Laila, Yogi Babu and Vaibhav in lead roles. With an estimated budget of over ₹400 crore, GOAT is one of the most expensive films produced this year. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography is by Siddharth Nuni, which further adds to its grandeur.
