Terrorists’ IED Detected On Amarnath Yatra Route, J&K National Highway

Security forces successfully detect and destroy an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Consequently, the Amarnath Yatra has been suspended.

Security Forces are still investigating, thus the area is still on high alert. Safety measures are strictly in operation to protect the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Security personnel have detected and destroyed a 2.5 kg improvised explosive device (IED) planted by terrorists on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Panjgrain area of Nagrota.

This is the same route used for the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. As a result of this incident, the Yatra was suspended on August 23. Traffic on the highway was also suspended during the search operation.

The IED was detected with the help of sniffer dogs and was destroyed through a controlled explosion by the bomb disposal squad.

The security forces have launched a search operation to track down the terrorists responsible for planting the IED.

This is the second IED that has been detected on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the past two weeks. The security forces have increased security measures on the highway, conducting regular searches of vehicles and passengers.

The recent IED attacks highlight the security challenges faced by India in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the security forces are determined to prevent such attacks and ensure the safety of the people.

The police and other security agencies were on high alert and conducting routine patrolling when they received information about a suspicious object in the area.

After the sniffer dogs detected the object, it was confirmed to be an IED. The bomb disposal squad was called in to destroy the IED safely. A case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated.

The detection and destruction of the IED have prevented a potential terrorist attack on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The security forces will continue to be vigilant and take necessary measures to maintain the security of the area.

The IED that was detected on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Panjgrain area of Nagrota was 2.5 kg. This is a relatively small IED, but it could still have caused casualties and damage if it had detonated. It is possible that the IED could have killed or injured dozens of people.

The average number of pilgrims on the Amarnath Yatra route every day used to be around 15,000. This means that if the IED had detonated, it could have had a devastating impact. Thankfully, the security forces recovered it!
