Tech-Artistary Bows Down For A Hand-Carved Hindu Temple In UAE

There is one more Hindu Temple being constructed in the UAE. Another Hindu temple was built in Jebel Ali, Dubai, in October of last year.

Hindu Temples Infrastructure In UAE

The rulers of the UAE believe in religious harmony. That is the reason behind the construction of various Hindu temples that have been constructed in the UAE.

The first traditional hand-carved Hindu temple in the nation is being built, and on a dusty construction site near the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway, craftspeople are anxiously watching as a snow-white marble pillar is slowly lowered into the area.

As they direct the cords holding the carved frame to drop softly down to a waiting column, the group of guys in blue overalls block out the deafening sound of whirring cranes.

It is now almost halfway through construction on Abu Dhabi’s famous Hindu temple in the Abu Mureika neighborhood, and magnificent marble columns are being installed in the main prayer hall.

The scaffolding and temporary staircases will be gone by this time next year. Worshippers will enter the cold, white marble interior of the two-story temple, which will hold Hindu deities revered throughout India, after passing by pink sandstone outside walls. The temple is scheduled to open in February of the following year.

For the temple to reach this crucial stage, more than four years of extensive research, meticulously carved statues by hand, and expert artistry were required.

Speciality of Hand-Carved Hindu Temple

1. Marble Sculptures With Sensors

Technological advances are being utilized to bring ancient scriptures to life, with 300 sensors delivering live data and surveillance seismic activity.

The main prayer hall of the temple is now receiving the first sculptures made of hand-carved marble.

The temple is about 55% finished and scheduled to open in February 2024. The temple will be visible to visitors from the outside.

2. 20,000 Tons of Stones & Indian River Water

The seven enormous pillars, which will represent the UAE’s seven emirates, will be constructed on top of the stone sculptures presently being installed.

20,000 tonnes of stone are being used, of which 5,500 tonnes are white marble and 14,500 tonnes are pink sandstone.

The canals would get water from the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sarasvati rivers in India, and one waterway will be illuminated.

A visitor’s center, two parks titled harmony and faith, a community hall for 3,000 visitors, a welcome area, an auditorium, and a food court will be completed by next February.

3. 5.4 Hectare Complex For 40,000 Worshipers

The 5.4 hectares of land that make up the temple complex were given to the Indian community by President Sheikh Mohamed in 2015.

The temple can accommodate 2,000 worshippers at a time, and during festivals, organizers anticipate up to 40,000 people everyday to visit the entire site.

Visitors will pass carvings made of pink sandstone that depict scenes from Hindu mythology, such as the joyous celebration of the Hindu god Ram’s return to the historic kingdom of Ayodhya and his kingship.

There will also be sculptures from other historic civilizations, such as those in Africa and the Arab world.

4. 200 Unique Carved Pillars

The representations of musicians playing the flute, people hanging lights for the Diwali festival, riders on horseback, and men seated on garlanded elephants have all been depicted in sculpture in the northern Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The temple, which will stand 32 meters tall and contain 200 pillars, is being constructed by 70 expert craftsmen.

Camel imagery is used in each sculpture to signify the United Arab Emirates. Visitors are placing flowers on bricks that will eventually be used in building.

5. Built With A Unique Compression Technique

The Abu Dhabi temple was built utilizing a compression method with numerous layers of stone to provide strength rather than using steel reinforcing.

Each temple column has a unique numerical code that connects to numbers displayed on the Abu Dhabi site. Chisel grooves are chiseled by artisans to fit the stone to its matching part.

According to Swami Brahmavihari, the temple represents the love and harmony of traditional Indian principles and is located in an area that upholds these ideals.

The UAE’s efforts to promote religious harmony are not limited to India alone. In recent years, the country has hosted multiple international conferences on interfaith dialogue, which have brought together leaders from different faiths.

This is a clear indication that the UAE believes that peace and harmony can be achieved through mutual understanding and respect between different religions.

The UAE’s commitment to religious harmony is also reflected in its strong diplomatic ties with India. The two countries have signed several agreements on trade, investment and cultural exchange over the years.

This demonstrates that both countries recognize the importance of peaceful coexistence for their mutual benefit as well as for global peace and stability.
