Tamil Nadu Gets ₹20,000 Crore Projects Under ‘Viksit Bharat’ Campaign

PM Modi is also starting other big projects in Tamil Nadu worth Rs 20,140 crore. This is part of the ‘Viksit Bharat’ campaign, which began in 2023.

The PM’s trip includes Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Kerala, focusing on different development projects. Before this, he launched major projects in Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Gujarat.

The new terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport in Tamil Nadu is ready. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inaugurating it today.

This terminal cost Rs 1100 crore to build. The PM is visiting Tamil Nadu, then Lakshadweep and Kerala over two days. He starts in Tiruchirappalli, where he’ll also attend Bharathidasan University’s Convocation Ceremony and launch other development projects.

The Tiruchirappalli Airport’s new terminal is big, around 75,000 square meters. It’s expected to be the 7th largest in terms of international passengers. It reflects Tiruchirappalli’s culture and India’s values.

The terminal can handle over 44 lakh passengers a year. It’s designed for easy and comfortable transit. It has 47 check-in counters and 10 boarding bridges, among other facilities. This expansion will boost the economy and improve air travel in Trichy and nearby areas.

The government is working on many projects in areas like roads, aviation, railways, petroleum, natural gas, and telecom. PM Modi wants to show that development is happening all over India.

He’s focusing on completing 42 major projects, each worth over Rs 5000 crore, before January 26, 2024.

Some upcoming projects include the Chenab Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, the Srinagar-Baramullah rail line, the Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, and the Dwarka Expressway.
