Esports, also known as electronic sports, is a form of competition using video games. It is a relatively new phenomenon that has only been around for about 20 years. 

The first video game competition was held in 1972 and since then it has grown exponentially.

The history of esports can be broken down into four stages: the birth of esports, the professionalization of esports, the globalization of esports and the commercialization of esports.

What is the salary of esports in India?

Esports is a fast-growing industry in India. It is not just about playing games anymore, but also about being an entrepreneur and making a living out of it. 

The salary for esports players in India ranges from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs per annum depending on the player’s skill level and experience. 

The Indian esports market was worth USD 1.5 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow to USD 7.8 billion by 2024.As the industry matures, so does the recruitment process for professional players. 

In order to support this, many leagues have started offering salary-based contracts and a fixed number of tournaments per year with clear remuneration for participating in events. 

The Indian Esports Federation also offers a standard contract which includes clauses on tournament pay as well as online streaming revenue.
