Union Minister for Road & Transport Nitin Gadkari declared there are 70 ongoing projects totalling 2,014 km across Andhra Pradesh which cost around ₹33,540 crore.

Nitin Gadkari was addressing the ‘Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023’ on Friday.

He said that their government is committed to make India a 5 trillion dollar economic country.  He added that Andhra Pradesh is one of the most important states of India.

Their government’s mission is to make an Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

Gadkari stated during his speech at the Andhra Pradesh Global Investment Conference 2023 in Visakhapatnam that attempts were being made to build two motorways and five green motorways for a total of 32,430 crore.

Gadkari stated that so far in 2022–2023, around 27 projects totaling 777 kilometers in length and anticipated to cost $15,400 crore have been granted.

He continued by saying that two multimodal logistics parks (MMLPs) in Visakhapatnam and Anantapur, each costing $1,797 crore, had also been approved.

According to him, these MMLPs would act as a crucial center for the centralization of freight traffic consolidation in the area.

He added that the length of Andhra Pradesh’s national highways, which increased from 4,193 km to 8,744 km during the past eight years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has increased significantly.

A 55 km (63,000 crore) six-lane Vizag Port roadway on NH 16 near Bhogapuram has also been sanctioned by the Centre.

According to Gadkari, the government is focusing on switching farmers to Urja-data while still assisting them as Annadata in keeping with PM Modi’s commitment to encouraging sustainable practices.

The minister added that the government supports swadeshi manufacturing, which places an emphasis on sustainability, recyclability, and safety. He claimed that the objective was to open up markets for green energy as well as a green economy in the field of transportation.
