“Stree 2,” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is off to a blazing start at the box office, capitalizing on the Independence Day holiday. Early estimates suggest the film is poised to rake in between ₹41.50 to ₹43.50 crore on its opening day. Notably, the top three national chains—PVRInox, Cinepolis, and others—have contributed a significant 55% to the day’s total business, amounting to ₹22 crore. The film has been performing at peak capacity across the board, with several locations even facing seating shortages due to high demand.
This overwhelming response suggests a promising extended 5-day opening weekend, with the film expected to gross between ₹160 to ₹175 crore. Factoring in the ₹8.50 crore from paid previews, the opening day total stands at an impressive ₹51 crore—a remarkable feat for a mid-sized horror-comedy without superstar leads. Despite facing competition from “Vedaa” and “Khel Khel Mein,” “Stree 2” has exceeded all expectations, proving its wide appeal.

The film’s positive early reviews and strong performance across both multiplexes and single screens indicate that “Stree 2” is set for a long and successful run, potentially dominating the box office for weeks to come. As industry insiders are saying, “Woh Stree Hai, Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti.”
