Stone Pelting In Morena Amid Votings In Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections

During the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, a significant incident occurred in Morena. In the Dimani assembly area, two groups engaged in stone pelting, resulting in a tense situation. 

This clash happened at two particular assembly election polling booths, numbered 147 and 148. Although some villagers reported hearing gunfire, the police have not confirmed this. The situation escalated to the point where police intervention was necessary to control the violence.

Stone Pelting & Violence Occur In Morena

The stone pelting and subsequent violence took place in the Dimani assembly constituency of Morena, specifically at polling booths numbered 147 and 148. This area experienced tension in the morning when the two groups clashed.

There are unconfirmed reports of firing during the incident. Some local villagers claimed that shots were fired; however, the police have not verified these claims. As of now, the reports of firing remain unconfirmed.

In the violence that erupted in Dimani assembly area, one person was reportedly injured. The injured person was taken to a hospital for treatment. The condition of the person or the extent of the injuries was not specified in detail.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is a notable candidate contesting from the Dimani assembly seat in Morena. This seat is significant due to his participation in the election.

Measures Taken By The Police

In response to the violence, the police acted swiftly to control the situation. They deployed heavy security, including the Border Security Force (BSF), to manage the sensitive polling booths. The police actively worked to disperse the groups causing the ruckus and ensure the safety of voters and the smooth conduct of the election process.

Violence Reported In Other Areas Of MP

There were reports of violence in other parts of Madhya Pradesh as well. For instance, in the Rau assembly area of Indore, late-night violence occurred between BJP and Congress workers, requiring police intervention with tear gas to control the situation. 

Additionally, in the Mehgaon assembly constituency of Bhind, stone pelting occurred outside a polling station, where BJP candidate Rakesh Shukla sustained minor injuries. These incidents reflect a tense atmosphere in certain areas during the election.
