Today is the birthday of the great Indian film director SS Rajamouli who has made blockbuster movies from RRR to Eega.

On Monday, October 10, Srisaila Sri Rajamouli celebrates turning a year older. She was born on October 10, 1973. 

The director, who is regarded as one of the best in the nation, has produced blockbuster successes for Indian cinema that have won over audiences not just in India but all over the world. 

Here is a look at the incredible movies that the visionary created, including RRR and the Baahubali series.

1. RRR (2022)

The historical action spectacle, which stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR as the liberation heroes Alluri Sitaram Raju and Komaram Bheem, has won over viewers all across the world and has even begun its campaign for the Oscars in 2023. 

Currently, the fourth-highest grossing movie in Indian cinema, the movie made almost Rs 1200 crore.

2. Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017)

Mahendra Baahubali, who was portrayed by Prabhas in a dual role in Baahubali: The Conclusion, went back to the Mahishmati realm to exact revenge on his father’s murder. 

The 2017 movie, which made a total of ₹ 1800 crore worldwide, is now the second-highest grossing film in Indian cinema history.

3. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015)

The succession struggle between Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaaladeva, respectively portrayed by Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, was depicted in the 2015 movie Baahubali: The Beginning. 

One single query, “Kattappa ne Bahubali ko kyu maara?,” baffled the entire country for two years. The film directed by Rajamouli makes a total of 650 crores of rupees worldwide.

4. Eega / Makkhi (2012)

The 2012 fantasy movie, Makkhi, about a man who reborn as a housefly to defend his love from a powerful industrialist and get revenge for his murder, was popular in the Hindi-speaking region. 

The movie, which starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nani, and Sudeep in the key roles, brought in almost ₹ 130 crore at the box office.

5. Magadheera (2009)

The Telugu fantasy action movie Magadheera, starring Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal, was based on a reincarnation story in which a warrior battles against all difficulties to save his love and kingdom after being reincarnated after 400 years. The critically acclaimed movie directed by SS Rajamouli in 2009 brought in about ₹ 150 crore at the box office.

6. Vikramarkudu (2006)

Anushka Shetty was his love interest in the 2006 Telugu movie, which starred Ravi Teja in the dual roles of an honorable police officer and a conman. 

At the box office, the action thriller made about ₹ 118 crore. Six years later, Rowdy Rathore, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, was made in Hindi.
