Spotify is now extending its wings to aviation as it partnered with Delta airlines while announcing that it will be providing free in-flight music to the airlines.
“Beginning today, we are taking off in a new partnership with Delta in which Spotify will take over the ‘audio’ section of Delta’s in-flight seatback entertainment,” said the company in a Blogspot.
Spotify is a music streaming giant and as a part of its marketing and promotion efforts, the streaming service is looking to offer its services for in-flight seatback entertainment. The company also added in its statement that this feature will let the passengers enjoy their favorite audio content on Delta studio.
“Passengers on Delta flights that are equipped with seatback entertainment,” the company added. As per data released by Spotify, there are nearly 20 million flight-related user-generated playlists globally on Spotify. With this partnership, it will be easier for listeners to listen to their most awaited music while on the flight.
This is a free service and is specially licensed to Delta airlines in line with the partnership. The playlist will have some of the most popular songs on the application which will be curated in the form of mixtapes. Other than this, there will also be 42 selected podcast series for podcast enthusiasts.
Spotify has been making waves with one of its recent changes called ‘blend’. This feature lets you connect your interest with your friend making it a shared playlist. For those longing for song suggestions from their friends, this the best way you can share your top secret playlist without having anyone else know about it.
The playlist will continue to update itself as per the preference of the user and the new changes will be shown on the applications of both the friends.
