SpaceX’s Inspiration4 Makes History, Completes First Space Tourism Flight

SpaceX Inspiration4 makes history by completing its first three-day all-civilian journey to space. On Saturday night, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule, which carried four private space tourists, plunged through Earth’s orbit and successfully splashed down off the east coast of Florida, United States.

The crew consisted of physician assistant Haley Arceneaux, geoscientist Sian Proctor, Billionaire Jared Isaacman and data engineer Chris Sembroski. They became the first crew to visit Earth orbit without any professional astronaut training.

Tech entrepreneur and billionaire Jared Isaacman funded SpaceX’s Inspiration4 private mission to Earth’s orbit. At age 15, Jared started his first business, and now at age 37, he is the owner of Shift4 Payments, a payment processing company worth $1.4 billion.

NASA says the SpaceX spacesuits are much more advanced, sleeker, and more functional, with the internal temperature control system is lightweight, and most importantly, protects from potential depressurization. 

It will ensure protection against depressurization and is similar to the ACES suit, which had an emergency breathing system and the ability to pressurize if the cabin suddenly lost oxygen entirely.

SpaceX’s one-piece spacesuits are designed by Hollywood costume designer Jose Fernandez, who has designed costumes for Batman vs Superman”, “Captain America: Civil War“, “Wonder Woman,” and “Wolverine.”  The American corporation SpaceX has built the Dragon spacecraft, which can carry up to 7 passengers to reach and return from the Earth’s orbit and beyond. It is the first spacecraft to carry humans to space, and it is capable of successfully return significant amounts of cargo to Earth.
