Space agencies are special groups that work on the exploration of space and getting more information about our universe. They launch rockets, satellites, or even people into outer space. Let’s take a look at the 10 most important space agencies in the world today.

1. NASA (USA)

NASA is an acronym that means National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is the most famous space agency in the world. The things NASA did were wonderful—man went to the moon and robots to Mars. They also study Earth from Space and work on new ways of flying in the air and in space.

2. Roscosmos (Russia)

Well, Roscosmos is Russia’s space agency. They sent the first person into space! Roscosmos cooperates with other nations for the operation of the International Space Station. They also launch satellites and carry out space research.

3. CNSA (China)

CNSA is the acronym for China National Space Administration. Lately, they have been doing so much in space. Robots from China have been sent to both the Moon and Mars; on top of that, they are currently building their space station in orbit. They want to become a major space power.

4. ESA (Europe)

ESA—not just the name of one country but many united European countries —means European Space Agency. They do all kinds of space projects, from studying comets to looking at the environment of Earth from space.

5. ISRO (India)

ISRO means Indian Space Research Organisation. They are good at launching satellites for less money than other agencies can do. India has also sent spacecraft to the Moon and Mars.
