Southern Tollywood Legend: India’s popular South Indian superstar Rajinikanth has finally decided to enter the political arena Known as the ‘Dancing Maharajah’, is going to be supporting PM Narendra Modi’s thought and vision for the nation.
He has put to rest end to years of speculation and would be entering the political arena in January 2021. This is going to be the good news of the pandemic times, while India is still striving to develop its own indigenous vaccine.
Rajinikanth will be setting up his own party. At the moment, the Southern state of Tamil Nadu is ruled by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, a local party and remains an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, the actor has commanded a huge fan following over three decades of a career in the field of cinema. He is considered a legend in Tollywood, the Tamil side of Bollywood. Rajinikanth has shown great appreciation for Modi’s various policies. This includes Modi’s scrapping of the special status of the then state of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 and the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, which fast-tracks naturalization for non-Muslims who fled persecution in neighboring nations.
The actor recently turned 70years of age last week. As of now, BJP has no presence in the Southern state of Tamil Nadu. With Rajinikanth deciding to enter politics, there is a possibility his party might sooner or later align itself to BJP.
