Soon after CM Mamata’s injuries, claims and counterclaims began over Nandigram incident

On Wednesday, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that she got injured as she was pushed against her vehicle by a couple of men, hours after she filed for nomination to contest Assembly elections from East Midnapore constituency, TOI reported.

Sagas of events are surfacing before the 2021 West Bengal Assembly Election, from the J.P Nadda incident to yesterday’s Mamata Banerjee claims that she was attacked.

There have been many claims and counterclaims from both Bharatiya Janta Party and Trinamool Congress since the Bengal election campaign began.

Abhishek Banerjee nephew of Mamata and a Trinamool Congress MP in a Tweet shared a picture showing didi in the hospital with her left leg in a cast and along with a message saying “BJP brace yourselves to see the power of people of BENGAL on Sunday, May 2nd. Get ready,” he Tweeted.

West Bengal CM is under treatment at the SSKM Hospital for her injuries on the left heel and ankle bone area as well as on her right shoulder, doctors told to News 18.

There has been complete silence from the BJP senior leaders on Twitter regarding Mamata didi’s incident, who is 66 years of age and a two-time Chief Minister of West Bengal.

While after a while, BJP VP Arjun Singh attacked didi by stating that she is staging a drama to attain sympathy from the people of Nandigram. Who can get close to her? when she is always accompanied by a huge police force, he claimed.

The Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also jumped the gun by accusing West Bengal CM and calling Banerjee’s accusations a siyasi show and pakhand (hypocrisy). Mamata is attempting to acquire people’s sympathy by doing nautanki or drama, he added.

However, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar called and paid a visit to the CM in the hospital to enquire about her wellbeing and asked for a report from the administration on the incident.

RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav called the assault a terrible and cowardly act and those behind it should not be spared.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said that the assault on Mamata didi was a matter of concern and demanded that a quick immediate high-level committee should be set up to investigate the incident.

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal likewise censured the attack on Mamata Banerjee and urged a prompt action and arrest should be conducted on the matter. Kejriwal also prayed for her speedy recovery.

Currently, the West Bengal administration is probing the incident and attempting to discover the truth whether it was an assault or a mishap.
