Smriti Mandhana scores her maiden 100 in pink-ball format cricket

Queensland – Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has scored her maiden century in test cricket and with that, she also became the first Indian woman to reach the hundred mark. She was outstanding with her 127-run knock against Australia on Friday.

Appreciating the opener’s efforts, the Board of Cricket Council of India also took to Twitter to acknowledge Mandhana.

The cricket was in great rhythm from the moment she stepped in and maintained a clean knock till the entire duration of her batting time. Experts believe that it was one of her cleanest and most stable test knocks ever. The young cricketer was 80 not out overnight and when she returned on the second day, she brought in the same composure as she did on the first day.

She played 216 balls to reach a score of 127 for herself as India collectively progressed to 231 for 3 on the second day in Carrara, Queensland. India’s game is currently working in its favor as the squad is managing to stay in control of the innings.

Mandhana bathed with Punam Raut as well as Shafali Verma. She partnered for 102 runs with Raut, which is a record in itself, and then with Verma, she contributed through a knock for 93 runs on the scoreboard. Rain definitely slowed down the game but the Indians managed to keep their composure.

With this knock, Mandhana is the leader in each format against the Australian side. In ODI, she is the leading scorer with 102 runs against Australia while in T20, she leads with 66 runs.

The first session saw Mandhana come up with some beautiful boundaries towards the off-side. In total, the cricketer managed 15 boundaries helping her push for a century faster. Overall, the cricketer seemed relaxed and confident as here in India has strongly established itself against Aussies.
