Six Teams Unveiled For Andhra Premier League (APL) With Logos

The Andhra Cricket Association is ready for the maiden season of Andhra Premier League (APL). The ACA announced the six franchise teams with their logos.

From July 6 to July 17, the ACA-VDCA stadium will host the Andhra Cricket Association’s maiden Andhra Premier League. The women’s league will take place in Vizianagaram from 26th June to 3rd July.

At the unveiling of the franchisee logos on Tuesday, ACA CEO and member of the APL governing council MV Siva Reddy, council chairman Y Satya Prasad, and ACA treasurer Gopinath Reddy provided information about the APL.

Out of more than 25 applicants, nine were shortlisted and six franchisees were chosen to join APL. For three years, each franchisee would pay an annual fee of ₹ 70 lakh. 

On June 24, Charu Sharma will hold an auction in which 368 players will participate. With a starting price of Rs 2 lakh per, Category A is made up of 12 current Ranji players who are icons. U-25, 23 and 19-year-old players fall into Categories B, C, and D, with a basic price of Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 50,000 for each, respectively. 

The franchisees would receive a kit worth Rs 30 lakh from ACA. The men’s competition would be broadcast live on Star Sports (Telugu). The women’s competition is accessible via OTT.

The franchisees and owners include KVR Estates’ KVTR Uttarandhra Lions, Dasaratharami Reddy’s Rayalaseema Kings, Malvin Global Energy’s Godavari Titans, Surya Granites’ Coastal Riders, Andhra Hospitals’ Bezawada Tigers, and Vizag Warriors’ Vizag Warriors (Pulses Group).

Till 12th July, the matches will be held between 01:30 pm to 06:30 pm. The first elimination and first qualifier will be held on July 15, the second qualifier on July 16, and the championship match will be held on July 17.
