Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi To Stream On Amazon Prime On This Date

Shahid Kapoor’s first web series Farzi, will stream on Amazon Prime Video on 10th Feb, along with Vijay Sethuathi. The series is from the makers of The Family Man.

Even if many stars and companies remained leery of direct-to-digital releases during the COVID-19 pandemic, Shahid Kapoor is the latest Bollywood name to have come to terms with the rising popularity of the web. 

Varun Dhawan will appear in the Indian episode of the spy drama Citadel for Amazon Prime Video, which will be produced by the director combo Raj and DK. 

Raj and DK will also serve as the series’ showrunners and directors. In the meantime, Kareena Kapoor Khan as well as Anushka Sharma will appear in Netflix originals, and Akshay Kumar has announced the action series The End for Amazon Prime Video. 

Last year, Ajay Devgn made an appearance in the Disney+ Hotstar original Rudra-The Edge of Darkness.

According to media analysts, India’s viewership of various streaming services is edging closer to a few million members, making it simple for them to execute the type of investment that these celebrities consider. 

User growth and production budget are related. A top-tier web series in India may now expect budgets of Rs. 60–80 crore, comparable to what is often spent on feature films, with A-list male stars receiving remuneration of roughly Rs. 15 crores.

In addition, the 40 to 50 lakhs subscribers that platforms have brought to the broader OTT ecosystem over the past several years have given them scale and ensured that celebrities view them as channels that would only strengthen their brand image rather than dilute it. 

According to analysts, major stars’ ventures into digital platforms are motivated by their desire to remain current, engage with young people, and participate in disruptive tales.
